Only 25km from Rethymno, 39km from Chania, and only 40m from the hotel is a crystal clear river where you can take a one-hour paddle boat ride and see turtles, ducks, fish, frogs and many birds.
The mouth of the river is also a harbour where local fishermen bring in their catch which you can buy straight from the boat. Just one step from the hotel is a 10km sandy beach where many tourists return to year after year. A causeway from the beach leads you to the tiny church of St. Nicolas, protector of the sea and fishermen.
